Milestone's Board of Directors
Todd Goodwin (President) is the Chief Executive Officer of Community Partners, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides residential, independent living, health care, personal and vocation supports to Maine residents with developmental and multiple disabilities. Prior to his position at CPI, he was the CEO of Mid-Coast Mental Health Center and VP of Administration at Community Counseling Center.
Tom Ranello (Vice President) is a realtor with Keller Williams Realty, with over 28 years of experience in real estate. He is also the President of the Greater Portland Board of Realtors. As a licensed auctioneer, Ranello has given his time to host hundreds of fundraising events for numerous nonprofits across Maine. He is involved in Habitat for Humanity for Greater Portland. And through his work with the Rotary Club, Ranello has travelled to Honduras on a mission trip that providing resources and aid to impoverished individuals in Central America.
Tony DiSotto (Treasurer) is Vice President and Business Banking Relationship Manager at KeyBank, where he specializes in providing commercial banking services to local businesses. He holds a B.A from Colby College and a MBA from Norwich University.
John Branson (Secretary) is the founding attorney of Portland’s Branson Law Office, P.A. Branson returned to his hometown of Portland in 2005 after several years of practice at larger firms in Washington, D.C. and Boston. He is a graduate of Yale College and Harvard Law School.
Ryan Ciriello is a Business Intelligence Analyst with Martin’s Point Health Care, and serves on Milestone’s Finance Committee. Last year, he completed Lift360’s Emerging Leaders Program, a comprehensive board training program that prepares individuals for nonprofit board work through practical board skills training including fiduciary oversight, finances, fundraising, roles and responsibilities, and interactive panels with local nonprofit leaders. Ciriello grew up in Sturbridge, Massachusetts and attended St. Joseph's College in Standish, Maine. He lives in South Portland with his wife and two-year old son, with another child on the way this summer.
Sylvia Dion is a marketing communication professional and serves on Milestone’s annual fundraising event committee. She has been involved with several Greater Portland community organizations, and studied business, communication and leadership & organizational studies at the University of Southern Maine.
Barbara Merrill is Chief Executive Director of the American Network of Community Options and Resources (ANCOR). Prior to joining ANCOR, Merrill was the Director of Government Relations for the MENTOR Network, a national network of community health and human services providers. A native of Maine, Merrill served in Maine’s House of Representatives, and in 2005 ran for Governor of Maine as an Independent, earning 21% of all votes cast.
Mike Miles is a senior human resources consultant doing business as Your Human Resource. He has served as Director of Human Resources for the City of Portland, Vice President of Human Resources and Training for Youth Alternatives Ingraham, and as Associate Vice President for the University of New England. His career emphasis has been on developing thriving organizational cultures that support optimal performance.
Christopher Poulos is an emerging national leader in criminal justice policy and addiction recovery. Selected as a “Law Student of the Year” by National Jurist Magazine, Poulos graduated with honors from the University of Southern Maine School of Law and served as chapter president of the American Constitution Society. Poulos also serves as an advisor to Senator Angus King on matters involving addiction and criminal justice policy. He completed an internship with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy where he worked to further the President’s National Drug Control Strategy. He was a Legal Fellow at The Sentencing Project in Washington, D.C. Poulos overcame addiction, homelessness and a federal incarceration.
Tom Ptacek is Veterans Health Care Outreach Community Organizer with Preble Street, where he previously contributed in advocacy efforts with Homeless Voices for Justice for three year. He also serves on the Board of Community Housing of Maine.
Michael Sauschuck was appointed Portland Chief of Police in 2012. He has served the City of Portland since 1997, when he began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer. Over the past decade, Chief Sauschuck has received a number of awards for his commitment to the Portland Police Department.
